USC Annenberg’s Center for Climate Journalism and Communication is pleased to announce a virtual event with Dr. Cornel West on Wednesday, July 19th at 11am PT.
Center director Allison Agsten will host an intimate conversation with Dr. Cornel West, presidential candidate for the Green Party. This discussion will include West’s climate policy positions, his perspective on creating a just energy transition, and the power of language to shape how we respond to the most consequential issue of our time.
Dr. Cornel West is the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Chair at Union Theological Seminary. He teaches on the works of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, as well as courses in Philosophy of Religion, African American Critical Thought, and a wide range of subjects — including but not limited to, the classics, philosophy, politics, cultural theory, literature, and music. He has a passion to communicate to a vast variety of publics in order to keep alive the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. – a legacy of telling the truth and bearing witness to love and justice.
