Through our special season of Electric Futures, My Story is a Climate Story, we offer you an intimate glimpse into the experiences of five USC professors who lost their homes during the 2025 LA Fires.

If you are or someone you know is still experiencing impacts from the disaster, these resources may be of use:

  • LA Wildfire Response Hub: Our colleagues at USC Public Exchange compiled an extensive list of resources in this spreadsheet, from checklists for affected homeowners to websites that collect donations for those affected.
  • Grief Support: If you are experiencing impacts on your mental health, you can access hotlines and join support groups compiled in this list by Our House Grief Support Center.
  • LA Fires Volunteer and Support Guide: This guide, created by LA 2050, compiles information for those who wish to aid as volunteers in the recovery process.
  • Fire Safety and Health Information: The LA County Department of Public Health provides information about health and safety post-fires on this website. You can also sign up for free blood lead tests if you have been impacted by the fires.
  • MySafe: LA: The Safe Community Project created this education resource that you can use to learn how to make yourself and your community fire-resilient and stay safe during a disaster.
