The USC Annenberg Center for Climate Journalism and Communication is pleased to announce that Season 3, Episode 1 of the Electric Futures podcast, a series that explores the transition to greener energy, is dropping on April 9, 2026. This season, The Data Center Next Door, takes listeners to California’s Imperial Valley, where plans to develop one of the largest data centers in the country have been announced. Host Chip Zukoski will dive into the costs associated with data centers–rising electricity bills, environmental degradation, and the proliferation of AI–addressing the concerns of those impacted the most.
